Friday's Fancies: The Cozy Side of Fall!

Friday's Fancies: The Cozy Side of Fall! Happy Friday's Fancies everyone! While I haven't had much time for blogging lately, I just couldn't resist participating with Long Distance Loving, since it's all about my favorite season - fall! This truly is a dream outfit for me. Not only is it wayyyyyyyy out of my college girl price range, but it is also wayyyyyy out of Arizona's weather range. It's still in the 100s here! (#whitegirlproblems, I know, but still.)

I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this Donna Karan cashmere poncho. I would love to cozy up to this in real fall weather and simply get lost in its warmth. It looks SO COMFORTABLE. I would definitely pair it with skinny jeggings. They look dressed up enough to wear out, but are still as comfortable as leggings! My bff Twindie swears by these Citizens jeggings - she says they very easily fool people for real skinnies, but are ten times more comfortable. Have to love those Tory riding boots and that ah-mazing Coach watch. Def adding that to the wish list.

So happy Friday's Fancies everyone! Can't wait to check out the other posts!

Friday's Fancies: Red Haute

Happy Friday's Fancies, everyone! This week's theme is all about the rockin' color red. My red ensemble was inspired by the princess of the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf.

Miss Waldorf's ivory skin and brunette hair looks gorgeous in some red, so I thought this ensemble would be perfect for the girly and sophisticated {fictional} New York royalty.

1. The dress is by Valentino - because, girl, I cannot do a fabulous and luxurious red outfit without featuring the king of red himself. Girly ruffles are perfect for Blair, and I could definitely see her sporting something similar on the show. It's prim and covered up with just enough decolletage showing for some sexiness {for Chuck of course!}.
2. The headband is also Valentino. What Blair outfit would be complete without a headband?? The bow keeps it presh while the studs add some edge - just like Blair's personality.
3. Mary Janes are by Gucci. They continue the sweet meets sassy vibe that reminds me oh so much of Ms. Waldorf.
4. And last, but certainly not least, we have a jaw-dropping necklace by Erickson Beamon. GG fans will know that this is the same brand of necklace that Chuck gave Blair for her birthday in season one. If you couldn't tell, I'm a fan of the couple {I get too invested in TV} and wanted to pay homage to them with these killer jewels.

Friday's Fancies: Modern Day Mary Poppins

Today's Friday's Fancies, and I'm linking up with Long Distance Loving! Since I'm finishing with nannying for the summer, today's post is dedicated to and inspired by one legendary nanny -  Mary Poppins.

The lace dress is from London label Issa (Kate Middleton approved) and would be perfect for the British Ms. Poppins. The bag is a nice and roomy Proenza Schouler, so it can be filled with tons of nannying tools and toys just like Mary's neverending bag from the movie. How cayoot is that belt? I thought the heart on the belt tied in nicely with the diamond heart studs. And how killer are those Miu Miu pumps? My modern day Mary is definitely a bit sassier than the 1960s one...

Friday's Fancies: The Power LWD

Today's Friday's Fancies, hosted by Long Distance Loving, is all about the LWD, the LBD's spunkier cousin, and for my version I decided to go big or go home. What's more over the top and commanding than a sleek Fendi dress paired with Louboutins and a Birkin? Friday's Fancies is all about dreaming big and this is definitely an outfit I can only afford in the dream world.

My inspiration came from one of my favorite TV shows, Entourage, that begins its final season this weekend. I could definitely imagine one of the strong female characters like Sloan or Mrs. Ari rocking this power outfit while still looking chic and feminine. Plus, LA is probably one of the only locales you can get away with wearing the LWD all year long Hopefully one day I'll be stomping in a pair of Loubs and looking as fierce. Happy Friday, everyone! I'm in Chicago for the weekend, but I cannot wait to check out the other fab looks when I return home!

Friday's Fancies: Intern Chic

Intern Chic
Today I began my summer internship and fifth internship in my college career. Interning is so motivating to me, since I can see how I'm working toward my future career and love learning new skills and overcoming new challenges. I'm so excited and motivated to be back at work - so today's Friday's Fancies with Long Distance Loving is all about looking like the chicest intern in the office.

My office is more casual, so the clothes aren't that professional (still office appropriate), but the outfit can easily be made more formal by trading in the wedges for black pumps and throwing a blazer over that swoon-worthy Isabel Marant blouse. I also work in a creative industry where hipper clothing is encouraged, so if you work in a more conservative field - I'd probably lose the stud earrings and bright clutch. For me, however, this outfit is fabulous and fitting, and I am lusting after the beautiful, intern-perfect (but not intern budget friendly) items. Happy Friday, everyone, and if you're interning this summer I wish you luck and a very productive summer!

Friday's Fancies: Frenchie

For today's Friday's Fancies with Long Distance Loving, I'm continuing my excitement for seeing Midnight in Paris tonight by getting my inspiration from the city of Paris. All of the brands featured are French - and boy, oh boy would I love to get my hands on any of these - but alas the college girl budget will not allow for YSL and Lanvin.

I love the black and white combo - especially with the Breton striped shirt.  The ruffled Lanvin skirt is so girly and really offsets the casualness of the stripes and masculine Hermes watch. I'm also loving the sparkles of the Chanel headband (I want this so bad - it's my inner Blair Waldorf) and Chloe clutch - a girl can never have too much glitz.

Friday's Fancies: Frenchie
So, happy Friday Fancie's everyone - here's hoping we can spend the weekend with some wine and macarons, and for those lucky few - a bit of Chanel.

Friday's Fancies: Marrakech Express

I am addicted to reality tv, and one of my soft spots is Bravo reality tv, particularly all of the installments of the Real Housewives (minus DC and Miami - boring). This week, on the Real Housewives of New York City, my old friends Jill, the Countess, Alex, Sonja, etc. (we're all really close) continued their desert adventure a la Sex and the City 2, except in Morocco instead of Abu Dhabi.

While some of the ladies' (ahem Ramona and Cindy) bickering and high school style antics did get old, I was so captivated by the Moroccan landscape and surroundings. What a beautiful country! The ladies absolutely had a trip of a lifetime, venturing into the souk, riding camels, and dining in a luxurious tent in the desert - jealousssss.

via.
The souk in Marrakech features over 40,000 craftsman! My kind of shopping.

So today's Friday's Fancies linkup is inspired by this trip to Morocco and includes my dream outfit for gallivanting across the desert, exploring the souk, and taking in all Morocco has to offer - minus the drama.

Friday's Fancies: Modern Day Dorothy

This week's Friday's Fancies is inspired by another silver screen legend, Miss Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz. Instead of traipsing down the yellow brick road, however, this ensemble is better suited for shopping, lunching, and casual night's out.

I LOVE this Tucker blouse, and it wouldn't be complete without red ruby slippers courtesy of Miu Miu and a straw tote to carry around your own Toto. Dorothy probably couldn't have afforded this get up, but it certainly is reminiscent of her famous attire in Oz. Hopefully you won't run into any witches or flying monkeys...

Friday's Fancies: Modern Day Scarlett O'Hara

For this week's Friday's Fancies linkup with Long Distance Loving, I'm inspired by the one and only, Scarlett O'Hara. I've been on a Gone with the Wind kick recently, so I figured I could cap off the week with some more classic movie inspiration. This look is inspired by the famous Twelve Oaks barbecue scene, where Scarlett O'Hara is able to rein in and play all of the southern gentlemen except for the ones that matter, Ashley Wilkes and Rhett Butler.

I loved the Miu Miu polka dot skirt and think the Rebecca Taylor blouse would be a great investment piece that could be worn with anything. The wedges are Gap, and are super comfortable and versatile. And, of course, I could not leave out that famous straw floppy hat! You wouldn't look reminiscent of Scarlett without it.

Here's to being the belle of the barbecue!

Friday's Fancies - St. John

Friday's Fancies - St. John

Today's Friday's Fancies are supposed to be inspired by a city or place, and I talk my inspiration from one of my favorite vacation locales, the US Virgin Islands. One USVI that is particularly beautiful is St. John which is covered by over 3/4 national park. It literally features beautiful beach after beautiful beach. While my family usually stayed on the more populated St. Thomas, the islands are only separated by a short ferry ride.

Trunk Bay, one of St. John's many gorgeous beaches.

This outfit is so easy, and to me is perfect for exploring the island while remaining cute, cool, and beachy. I love the star fish bracelet for some nautical inspiration, and I can't leave the house, especially for a beach vacation, without my Ray Bans! Here's to hoping more St. John is in my future and not just through blogging.

Royal Friday's Fancies

Royal Friday's Fancies
In keeping with the Royal Wedding madness (last post, I promise!), here would be my imaginary attire to the Royal Wedding. My invite must have been lost in the mail! Don't worry, I won't hold it against Prince Harry!

All the items are British except for a few Kate Spade accessories for a proper dose of Americana. The dress is from Topshop (won't break the bank), and the jacket is Burberry for that extra dose of British punk. I've never been a fan of hats (my big bowling ball head fails to look good in them), but this Philip Treacy one is great for the occasion. Remove the hat, and voila! you can go to a formal or night out more suitable for us commoners.
