California Here We Come...

Thanks to SOAPnet, I've been transported back to middle school and have spent the last few days recapturing my love for The OC. The show makes me so nostalgic for middle and high school and simpler times when Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson were still a couple (work it out, you crazy kids!). Thanks to the OC, I fell in love with my first teen soap, wanted to move to Orange County, was eventually introduced to Laguna Beach and The Hills, and was able to discover awesome bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Rogue Wave, and Spoon. I'll admit it, the when I watched the Pilot and Model Home episodes over the weekend for the first time in years I def got sentimental hearing Phantom Planet's opening track and once again held out hope that Seth Cohen might exist...

You can't discuss music and The OC without some Death Cab.

Can't resist the banter and chemistry of Seth and Summer.

I never could get into the series after Marissa died.

Best moment from the pilot. And the accompanying song. Chills.

Friday's Fancies: Red Haute

Happy Friday's Fancies, everyone! This week's theme is all about the rockin' color red. My red ensemble was inspired by the princess of the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf.

Miss Waldorf's ivory skin and brunette hair looks gorgeous in some red, so I thought this ensemble would be perfect for the girly and sophisticated {fictional} New York royalty.

1. The dress is by Valentino - because, girl, I cannot do a fabulous and luxurious red outfit without featuring the king of red himself. Girly ruffles are perfect for Blair, and I could definitely see her sporting something similar on the show. It's prim and covered up with just enough decolletage showing for some sexiness {for Chuck of course!}.
2. The headband is also Valentino. What Blair outfit would be complete without a headband?? The bow keeps it presh while the studs add some edge - just like Blair's personality.
3. Mary Janes are by Gucci. They continue the sweet meets sassy vibe that reminds me oh so much of Ms. Waldorf.
4. And last, but certainly not least, we have a jaw-dropping necklace by Erickson Beamon. GG fans will know that this is the same brand of necklace that Chuck gave Blair for her birthday in season one. If you couldn't tell, I'm a fan of the couple {I get too invested in TV} and wanted to pay homage to them with these killer jewels.

Be sure to click on the button and head over to Long Distance Loving and "like" the entry for Lust for Living and visit all of the fabulous other outfits! Loving this red theme - va va voom!

Friday's Fancies: The Power LWD

Today's Friday's Fancies, hosted by Long Distance Loving, is all about the LWD, the LBD's spunkier cousin, and for my version I decided to go big or go home. What's more over the top and commanding than a sleek Fendi dress paired with Louboutins and a Birkin? Friday's Fancies is all about dreaming big and this is definitely an outfit I can only afford in the dream world.

My inspiration came from one of my favorite TV shows, Entourage, that begins its final season this weekend. I could definitely imagine one of the strong female characters like Sloan or Mrs. Ari rocking this power outfit while still looking chic and feminine. Plus, LA is probably one of the only locales you can get away with wearing the LWD all year long Hopefully one day I'll be stomping in a pair of Loubs and looking as fierce. Happy Friday, everyone! I'm in Chicago for the weekend, but I cannot wait to check out the other fab looks when I return home!

Fashion Friday: Midnight in Paris

I'm so excited because tonight I will finally be seeing the great Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris! The trailers look amazing and the movie's been receiving excellent reviews. My friend's N and L and I are going to be super cheesy and go out for French food before the movie and see the film at a movie theater where you can purchase wine. Ive recently been very impressed by Super 8 and X Men: First Class, so I hope Midnight in Paris can continue this movie hot streak. At least I know it will provide some beautiful scenery!

So for this Fashion Friday, I'm inspired by Paris especially the film and my other favorite scripted visit to Paris - the Sex and the City finale. Au revoir! I'll let you know how the movie is!
